For Held Space founder and psychiatric nurse practitioner Laura Temple, Held Space sparked from a need for deeper presence and healthy separation from home during session times for her then-entirely virtual therapy practice.
What began as a way to offer her patients an in-person location for appointments quickly expanded into a mindfully experimental place to bridge conscious mental health care, creative healing modalities, and a sense of deep belonging through community-led offerings.
Held Space is unconventional and proudly unfiltered in its offerings, partnering with a network of practitioners and facilitators who honor a complete picture of the human experience. There is no false cheeriness here, but we are no strangers to joy.
In our pursuit of collective effervescence, Held Space offers an open hand to those looking to explore their own depths through a collection of multidimensional and ever-evolving offerings. We’re rooted in inclusivity, creativity, mindfulness, and play. Whether you’re creating and hosting an offering, or coming to receive it, Held Space is a soft place to land for your human being wholeness.

After years as a Held Space fangirl and member, Grace jumped in with the HS admin team on the logistics and planning for the buildout of Held Space 3.0. Grace serves as the lead for the care-taking facilities team to make sure the physical environment of Held Space is well-maintained, loved, and evolving with our community. With her professional design experience in museums and project management for construction, Grace loves thinking about how buildings and interiors function and operate. For a collective as special as Held Space, she sees this role as a beautiful opportunity to think about how we can build an aligned and symbiotic relationship with our shared space at 960 Manhattan Ave.
Please feel free to reach out to her about all things cleaning, plumbing, lighting, HVAC, cute mid century furniture, cats, running, and good books.
