Laura Temple

Held Space Founder &  Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

For Laura Temple, Held Space sparked from a need for deeper presence and healthy separation from home during session times for her then-entirely virtual therapy practice.

What began as a way to offer her patients an in-person location for appointments quickly expanded into a mindfully experimental place to bridge conscious mental health care, creative healing modalities, and a sense of deep belonging through community-led offerings.

testimonials

"Being mostly virtual the past three years, I knew I needed to find a space that would support my private practice in making in person appointments and events an option again. It felt important for this space to have the right energy, community and privacy to make that transition. Held Space has checked all those boxes and has given me a small sense of community and as a therapist in solo private practice, that goes a long way."

-Melissa Middlebrook, Therapist

"Held Space was a phenomenal venue to host a breathwork ceremony for my clinical practice. Laura was incredibly supportive throughout the process and the physical space had everything we needed to facilitate a safe and meaningful experience. Specifically, the space had yoga mats, blankets, cups for a cacao ceremony, as well as water cups for all of our participants to use."

-Daniel Rogers, Therapist

"Laura and Held Space have been an integral part in providing a place to lay a foundation as I grow my class community. The process to join Held Space was easy and seamless, made even better by how comfy, cozy and clean the environment is. Mornings at Held Space are some of my absolute favorite!"

-Ayorinde Ifatunji, Barre Instructor

“I'm so thankful to host "We All Feel Support Groups & Workshops" at Held Space. The setting is optimal, as it is warm, inviting and a safe space. Held Space has everything I need to lead my groups, and participants consistently say they love the space too.”

-Amanda Sacks, Therapist

"I've been a member at Heldspace for almost 6 months and it's amazing to see how the community has grown. Not only is it convenient as a local Brooklyner, but as a new solo practitioner, it has allowed me the opportunity to build confidence in my work and grow my practice! I wouldn't be where I am today professionally if it weren't for Held Space!"

-Isabella Levere, Therapist

"Held Space has been the perfect spot for me to begin building my community as a new yoga teacher in Brooklyn. It's super easy for me to host classes there on a weekly basis, and the fact that it is already stocked with yoga mats, blocks, and straps makes the practice very accessible for all of my students. I appreciate how seamless Laura makes the booking process."

-Lily Derella, Yoga Instructor
